The short version
- Kuko is a subscription app with a 3-day free trial. It renews automatically until you cancel in the App Store or Google Play.
- Prices, savings, calories and macros in Kuko are estimates. Always check labels, especially for allergies.

- Please use Kuko fairly and don't misuse the service.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [legal name of the person or company that owns Kuko], [registered address] ("Kuko", "we", "us"). They apply to the Kuko mobile app (the "App") and this website (together, the "Service"). By downloading or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Kuko. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Kuko with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. The service
Kuko helps you plan weekly dinners around your budget, supermarkets and preferences. It creates grocery lists, estimates prices and savings, compares prices between stores, offers cook-mode recipes and timers, and estimates calories and macros from meal photos.
Kuko doesn't require an account. We link your data to an anonymous ID stored on your device. If you delete the App or your data without an active subscription, or lose your device, we may not be able to recover your data. If you have an active subscription, you can restore it on a new device through "Restore purchases".
We're always improving Kuko, so features, supported supermarkets and countries may change, be added or be removed over time.
4. Subscriptions, free trials & billing
- Subscription required. Kuko's features require a paid subscription ("Kuko Pro"). The price, billing period and currency are shown in the App and on the App Store or Google Play before you buy. Prices vary by country and may include tax.
- Free trial. New subscribers may get a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and you'll be charged the full price for the first billing period. You can only have one free trial.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple or Google account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
- How to cancel. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so you must cancel through them — deleting the App or your data doesn't cancel your subscription.
- iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Kuko → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Kuko → Cancel.
- Refunds. Payments are processed by Apple or Google, whose refund policies apply. To request a refund, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (support.google.com/googleplay). We can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
- Right of withdrawal (EU/UK). If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a digital services contract. By starting your subscription or free trial, you ask us to provide the Service immediately. If you withdraw within 14 days, the store may deduct an amount proportionate to the Service provided until then, as permitted by law. Requests go through Apple or Google as above.
- Price changes. If the price changes, we or the store will tell you in advance, as required by law and store rules. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Offers and promo codes. Discounts and promotional offers are subject to the conditions shown with them, may be limited in time or to certain users, have no cash value, and can't be combined unless we say so.
5. Prices, savings & estimates
Prices, deal prices, store distances, totals, cost per serving and savings shown in Kuko are estimates. Supermarkets change prices and promotions often, and prices can differ between branches and online, so the amount you pay at the till may be different. "Savings" are estimates based on your budget and planned shop, not guaranteed amounts. We're not responsible for prices or product availability at any store.
6. Health, diet & allergies
Kuko is not medical or nutritional advice. Meal plans, recipes, and calorie and macro estimates are for general information only. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing your diet, especially if you're pregnant, have a medical condition or an eating disorder, or have specific nutritional needs.
Allergies: Kuko tries to exclude the allergens and ingredients you tell us to avoid, but we can't guarantee that a recipe or product is free from any allergen. Ingredients and recipes may be incomplete, and products can contain traces of allergens or change their recipes. Always read product labels and use your own judgement. If you have a severe allergy, don't rely on Kuko alone.
Follow safe food handling and cooking practices, including cooking meat, fish and eggs thoroughly, and take care with knives, heat and appliances.
7. AI features
Some features, like the meal scanner, use artificial intelligence. AI output is generated automatically and can be inaccurate or incomplete — for example, a scan may misidentify a dish or its portion size. Use AI results as a helpful estimate, not a fact. Only upload photos you have the right to use, and don't upload photos of other people or sensitive content.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- copy, resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or its content, including recipes and price data;
- scrape, data-mine, reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code of the App, except where the law allows;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or security, or try to access data that isn't yours;
- abuse free trials, promo codes or offers, or get around subscription restrictions;
- use automated means to access the Service or overload our AI features.
9. Intellectual property
The Service — including the App, the Kuko name, mascot and logo, design, recipes, text and software — is owned by Kuko or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms and an active subscription where required, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
You keep ownership of the content you provide (like meal photos). You give us a limited licence to use it only to operate and provide the Service to you.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Supermarket names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the stores. Kuko isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any supermarket.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services — such as Apple, Google, map providers and our AI and hosting providers — and may link to third-party websites. We're not responsible for third-party services or content, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Kuko at any time. To delete your data, go to Me → Delete my data in the App, and remember to cancel your subscription separately. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice where possible. Sections that by their nature should survive — such as intellectual property, disclaimers and liability — continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, or that prices, nutrition information or other content will be accurate or up to date.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer that can't be excluded or limited by contract. If you're a consumer in the EU, UK or Brazil, you benefit from the legal guarantee that digital content and services will conform to the contract.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kuko won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Kuko in the 12 months before the claim, or €50.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [country/state where Kuko is based]. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there. Before starting a legal claim, please email us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. EU consumers can also use the EU's online dispute resolution service.
15. Apple & Google terms
If you downloaded Kuko from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and Kuko, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for any product claims, intellectual-property claims or legal compliance relating to the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you're not in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Your use of the App must also comply with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies.
If you downloaded Kuko from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the App in advance. If you keep using Kuko after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you don't agree, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right, that isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale, without reducing your rights. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
